[ CASE STUDY ]

THE SITE WAS BEAUTIFUL. Google had never heard of it.

Valiosa Wellness had a brand, a following, and a trainer worth finding. What it lacked was a search presence, a coherent identity, and a client pathway that actually worked. A 9-week engagement rebuilt all three.

PART 01 // THE PROBLEM

She had an audience. The internet had no idea she existed.

Gelli arrived with an active Instagram following, genuine expertise certified by ISSA, and a Phase 1 Squarespace site built through a city-funded initiative. The site existed. It reflected her brand. It just didn’t work for the web. Nobody had told her that.

The business was running entirely on Instagram. Her website was a destination for people who already knew her, not a tool for finding people who didn’t.

  • × Homepage title tag was “Valiosa Wellness” — no location, no service keyword, invisible in local search.
  • × Two competing URLs (gellimarie.com and valiosawellness.com) split SEO authority and confused every prospective client.
  • × Two competing Instagram handles diluted her social identity and made coherent growth impossible.
  • × All site images named “Screen Shot 2025-04-21 at 9.30.12 PM.png” — zero SEO value, no alt text, actively harming page speed.
  • × Service pages targeted zero search terms. Built for aesthetics, not discovery.
  • × No Google Business Profile. Completely invisible in every “personal trainer Manhattan” map search.
  • × No structured client onboarding. Buyers who purchased programs had no guided path into the Trainerize app.
BEFORE // ORIGINAL SITE
Original gellimarie.com homepage — the site before JADY Design’s rebrand and SEO overhaul

The original gellimarie.com — a second competing URL, no location metadata, no keyword strategy, no local search presence.

A website that can’t be found is not a marketing asset. It’s a brochure nobody asked for.

PART 02 // THE SHIFT

Stop building for Instagram.
Start building with it.

KEYWORD RESEARCH PROCESS
Valiosa Wellness keyword research spreadsheet — 22+ keyword targets mapped across service pages

Instead of treating the website as a destination for Instagram followers, we built it as the primary client acquisition engine, with Instagram as proof and not the pipeline.

The most consequential change was brand identity consolidation. Two URLs and two Instagram handles meant every link, every post, and every piece of SEO work was fragmenting authority across two entities. Choosing one identity unlocked everything else.

01
Brand Identity Audit

Single URL, single Instagram handle, clear authority entity (“Gelli Marie | Valiosa Wellness”) established across every platform.

02
AI-First Content Architecture (AEO)

Every page rewritten for how ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, and voice assistants surface answers — not just how crawlers index keywords.

03
Keyword-to-Page Mapping

Every page assigned its own search intent, primary keyword cluster, and content structure. No two pages competing for the same term.

04
Google Business Profile Built

Keyword-rich business description, 3-borough service area, weekly posting strategy, and review collection system — built from zero.

Before
After
Homepage Title Tag
“Valiosa Wellness” — no service, no location, invisible to anyone searching for a trainer.
Homepage Title Tag
“Manhattan Personal Trainer for Women | Strength Training NYC | Valiosa Wellness” — location, service, and brand in the right order.
Brand Identity
Two URLs and two Instagram handles divided SEO authority and left every prospective client choosing between two versions of the same person.
Brand Identity
One URL (valiosawellness.com), one Instagram (@gelli.marie), one entity (“Gelli Marie | Valiosa Wellness”) across all platforms.
Local Search
No Google Business Profile. Invisible in every “personal trainer Manhattan” map search. Competitors appeared; she didn’t.
Local Search
Full GBP live — keyword-rich description, 3-borough service area, weekly posting cadence, review collection strategy in place.
Client Onboarding
Clients who purchased programs had no clear path into the Trainerize app. Questions went to email. Trust eroded before the first rep.
Client Onboarding
End-to-end onboarding mapped: post-purchase email templates, Trainerize integration, step-by-step app access guide, admin documentation.
PART 03 // THE OUTCOME

Everything she needs to be found.
Nothing she doesn’t.

[ WHAT WAS DELIVERED ]
🔍
Search Identity Built

Resolved the two-URL, two-handle split fragmenting authority across two entities. One brand, one domain, one Instagram — every search signal pointing the same direction.

🤖
AI-First Content Architecture

All service pages rebuilt for Answer Engine Optimization — structured for ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, and voice search. The site can now be cited, not just crawled.

📍
Local Search Presence

Google Business Profile built from scratch and optimized for the Manhattan map pack. Three boroughs. Keyword-front-loaded description. Review collection system built and handed off.

🗺
Customer Journey Mapped

Three audience personas documented — from first Instagram impression through retained client. Every friction point identified, every drop-off addressed, every next step made explicit.

Onboarding Systematized

Post-purchase flow designed end-to-end across all four service lines: confirmation templates, Trainerize integration, app access guide, admin documentation. The gap between paid and started is closed.

🧰
Client Independence Delivered

21 SEO documents plus a ChatGPT prompt package and training session so Gelli can maintain and grow the foundation without a monthly retainer. Teach the strategy, not just execute it.

THEY SAY
IT BETTER

Jackie didn’t just build a website. She figured out what my business actually needed to say and then designed something that says it.

PART 04 // TAKEAWAY

The lesson every solo service provider needs to hear.

“A beautiful website with no search identity isn’t a marketing asset. It’s a liability dressed up as one.”

Most small business websites are built for the owner’s confidence, not the client’s discovery. They look good. They reflect the brand. They sit there waiting to be noticed. The landscape they’re waiting in keeps changing faster than most businesses realize. It isn’t just Google anymore. It’s the AI Overview that answers your client’s question before a single link gets clicked. It’s ChatGPT naming a competitor because their site was structured to be cited, not just indexed. It’s a voice result that surfaces someone else because their content was written the way a person actually asks a question. You need to show up across all of it — search, AI, maps, local — with the right signals, the right structure, and the kind of steady, credible review presence that tells every platform this business is active and worth recommending. Not fifty reviews dropped at once. A consistent stream that builds trust over time. If you’re just now thinking about this, you’re not early. You’re catching up. The good news is it’s fixable. The hard truth is it takes ongoing work and someone who actually keeps up with how it keeps changing.

For Valiosa Wellness, the fix wasn’t a redesign. It was a reorientation: from built-for-confidence to built-for-discovery. That meant establishing one coherent brand identity first, then building the content architecture, the technical foundation, and the local presence that lets a real person with real expertise show up across search, AI, and maps. The site looks the same. What changed is that the internet, across all its surfaces, finally knows she’s there.
